Travel Watercolor Painting: Taking Watercolor on the Road
with Jim Gensheer!

Demo in Review

Jim Gensheer

It was great to learn about travel watercolor and how to be prepared and ready to paint!  Jim’s presentation was thorough and well attended.  And now, we’re all ready to pack it up and head out to paint!  Thanks so much, Jim!!

Here are some Demo highlights:

  1. Pack light – the less you take the better
  2. Leave your ego at home. Make your personal expectation real. Often when you go to these workshops you want to impress everyone with your own skill. You should go just to learn and have the focused time to paint.
  3. Select the teacher who’s work you like, and has the expertise/experience.
  4. Find out how many students are allowed into the workshop. If there are too many you may not get enough one-on-one time with the instructor.
  5. What is your ‘perceived’ organization of the workshop. If you don’t feel it’s that organized it probably won’t be that efficient.
  6. Relax, enjoy, ask questions and participate
