ARTIST STATEMENT
As time has past, I became discouraged about my artwork due to how people judged it. But in my new school this year, my peers, for the first time, didn’t oppress me but encouraged me. This sense of acceptance allowed me to rediscover the joy that conveys my mind as I let go of all the immutable, nagging thoughts. I let them escape their cage in my inquiring mind and draw them onto the page.
I now spend my time sketching nature or building little sanctuaries in our garden .Occasionally these sketches are about my latest dream I had or my revelations/ideas about the latest novel I’ve read. Currently, however, I have been sketching in hope of finding an answer to deep philosophical questions. I am in the middle of trying to discover who I really am. I have not got an answer but my sketches currently involve a book, trees, and an abandoned swing.
